Each candidate must be qualified to attend, know the administrative details of the course, and understand the outline of the course.
Each candidate for the Wings Tandem Instructor Course must meet the following prior to
attending the course:
1) reached the age of 18 years,
2) holds a USPA Coach or instructional rating,
3) earned a USPA D license or FAI equivalent,
4) logged 500 jumps on a ram air canopy, including 50 jumps within the past 12 months,
5) has at least three years parachuting experience, and
6) holds a current FAA Class 3 Medical Certificate or the equivalent.
In addition, the candidate must bring the following to the course:
1) hard helmet (either open face or full face) or leather frap hat with appropriate eye protection
2) externally visible altimeter
3) appropriate jump suit
4) note-taking materials
5) logbook
6) Current USPA SIM and IRM (edition date within two years of the start of the course)
7) Audible altimeter encouraged but not required.
